Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi revealed that Iran and the United States were “just inches away” from sealing an agreement during high-level talks in Islamabad.

In a post on X, he wrote that Iran engaged with the U.S. in good faith to end the war during intensive talks at the highest level in 47 years.

However, he added that when they were just inches away from the “Islamabad MoU,” they encountered “maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade,” which led to the failure of the agreement.

stating that the United States will immediately begin a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, and that all passing ships will be stopped and inspected.

He claimed that Iran had broken its promise to keep the waterway open and had allegedly laid sea mines, creating fear and uncertainty worldwide. He described the situation as “global extortion” and said no country would accept such pressure.

Trump stated that the US Navy would have the authority to stop, search, and possibly detain any vessel that had paid toll fees to Iran, adding that such ships would not be allowed safe passage.

He also said that US forces would destroy all sea mines in the strait and warned that any attack by Iranian forces on American or peaceful vessels would be met with a “strong and devastating response.”

A consequential diplomatic phase has just concluded. Although it ended without convergence, it has already reshaped the strategic landscape in ways that are not immediately visible.

The recent round of talks produced no formal agreement, returning the situation, at least on the surface, to a familiar baseline. Predictably, this has triggered a surge of commentary and instant conclusions. However, beneath the noise lies a more durable reality: the process itself has altered perceptions, created diplomatic space, and averted trajectories that could have been far more dangerous.

Pakistan’s role in facilitating engagement at a moment of heightened volatility—when escalation pathways were real and potentially catastrophic—cannot be reduced to simplistic binaries. The creation of diplomatic space, the slowing of escalation, and the enabling of dialogue are, in themselves, strategic outcomes. In contemporary geopolitics, preventing deterioration is often as significant as securing an agreement. That distinction, however, is being obscured in the current discourse.

KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) delivered a powerful bullish performance during the outgoing week, as renewed investor confidence and improving macroeconomic sentiment fueled a sharp upward rally across major sectors.

Trading activity remained consistently positive, with strong participation seen in key sectors such as banking, energy, and cement, which contributed significantly to the upward momentum. Investors responded to easing political uncertainty and expectations of economic stability, helping sustain buying pressure throughout the week.

During the week, the index briefly climbed to a high of 168,290 points, while the lowest level recorded stood at 147,771 points. Market analysts noted that the rally also benefited from improved liquidity conditions and renewed foreign interest, further strengthening overall market sentiment.

Tesla is reportedly developing a new smaller and more affordable electric SUV, according to people familiar with the matter. The company has recently engaged suppliers to discuss the vehicle’s design, manufacturing process, and components.

Unlike existing models such as the Model 3 or Model Y, the upcoming SUV is said to be a completely new vehicle rather than a variant of any current Tesla lineup. Sources indicate that it will measure around 4.28 meters in length, making it significantly smaller than the Model Y.

Production is expected to begin in China, with future expansion plans potentially including the United States and Europe, depending on demand and manufacturing strategy.

The move comes after CEO Elon Musk reportedly shelved a low-cost EV project in 2024 and shifted greater focus toward robotaxis and humanoid robotics. However, it remains unclear whether this new SUV represents a renewed push toward affordable consumer vehicles or is primarily aligned with Tesla’s long-term autonomous driving strategy.

Some sources suggest the model may be designed with dual capability, allowing both manual driving and full self-driving functionality, potentially positioning it as a bridge between conventional EVs and future autonomous fleets.

As the US-Israel conflict with Iran pauses for two weeks amid renewed diplomatic negotiations, Iran and China have moved to advance discussions on promoting the Chinese yuan in oil trade, a development that could reshape parts of the global financial system.

Both countries have long argued that the dominance of the US dollar in international trade gives Washington significant leverage, allowing it to influence global markets and impose economic pressure on rivals, including Iran and China.

The issue is especially significant in the global oil market, where around 80% of transactions are still settled in US dollars, according to estimates from JP Morgan Chase (2023).

Analysts say the latest developments reflect broader efforts by some major economies to reduce reliance on the dollar and explore alternative settlement currencies, particularly in energy trade, amid shifting geopolitical alignments.

A growing feud between President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV has taken a surprising turn after Trump shared an AI-generated image that critics said depicted him as Jesus Christ.

The image controversy:
The picture showed Trump in a Christ-like form, dressed in a white robe with a glowing light emanating from his hand. The post quickly sparked backlash, particularly among religious conservatives, with some accusing it of being blasphemous. Trump later removed the image, stating that he believed it portrayed him as a doctor rather than a religious figure.

Background tensions:
The dispute between the two figures has been intensifying, particularly over the conflict involving Iran. Trump criticized the pope’s stance, calling it “terrible for foreign policy,” while Pope Leo XIV responded by saying he had “no fear of the Trump administration.”

Trump had also previously clashed with Pope Francis, criticizing him after remarks on the administration’s immigration policies, further highlighting ongoing tensions between the former president and leaders of the Catholic Church.

The so-called “Great Reset” of early 2026 is now behind us. Following the rare Saturn–Neptune conjunction in late February, April emerges as the first true month of what many are calling a “new reality.”

Astrologically, this period is associated with the Year of the Fire Horse—an era symbolizing speed, independence, and forward momentum, with little interest in revisiting the past.

A strong Aries stellium—featuring the Sun, Mars, Mercury, and Saturn—further amplifies this shift. Often interpreted as a signal for action and renewal, this alignment is seen by enthusiasts as a cosmic green light to move ahead.

With past illusions considered shattered, the focus now shifts toward building the future with clarity, energy, and decisive action.

As the Spring season arrives in the Northern Hemisphere, a fresh wave of cosmic energy is setting the tone for love and relationships. Regardless of whether you’re single or committed, this period offers meaningful opportunities to prioritize your romantic life and embrace new emotional experiences.

General Forecast

This season brings a vibrant mix of energies centered around love, passion, and deeper emotional connections. Astrologically, the focus is on creating meaningful bonds rather than fleeting encounters.

A key influence comes from Jupiter—the planet associated with luck and expansion—currently positioned in Cancer until June 30. This alignment adds a warm, nurturing, and emotionally intuitive layer to relationships.

As a result, people may feel more drawn to intimate, home-based gatherings rather than large public outings. Social connections formed through family or close circles are likely to increase. You might meet someone through a sibling, a family friend, or even at a small get-together hosted at home.

This period also carries a sense of nostalgia and emotional depth. In astrology, Cancer is linked to the past and the 4th House, which governs roots and personal history. Because of this, encounters may feel fated or familiar—almost like reconnecting with someone from another time.

Overall, the months ahead encourage slowing down, opening your heart, and allowing love to grow in a more genuine and emotionally fulfilling way.
